St. Mark's is a welcoming home for all types of families, traditional and
non-traditional. Any questions about children's and youth ministries should be
directed to the Children and Youth Team at 419.244.3707.
Sunday School
All babies, children, and youth are invited to participate in our Sunday school program (or nursery care, for children up to 3 years), on Sundays at 9:30 am. We welcome children from all types of families. We seek to provide a care
that reflects God’s care for us and our goal is for all children and young people to
feel comfortable and have a positive experience.
Children and Worship
It is important to us that our children and young people know that they are an integral part of the community, including worship. During the first part of the service, the children color or work on activity pages at the front of the church. After the Gospel reading, they process into the Schilling Room, where together they set the children's altar and have their homily and prayer time. At the sharing of the peace, they join us back in the sanctuary for Eucharist.
Children's Chime Choir
For special services, our children bless us with the joyful noise of their tonechimes, under the direction of our "chime maestra," Marj Monhollen.
Youth Mission Trips
Every summer, our youth together with youth from other parishes in the area spend a week on a mission trip. The past couple of years, we've worked with the Appalachia Service Project to assist with home repair in rural areas of Appalachia.
Other Events
Family-friendly events are scheduled monthly. In the past we've gone bowling, played games at the Church, gone to the zoo, and had a drumming circle/labyrinth walk. Check the newsletter for current information.
